US WW2 T5 White Reserve Parachute, Operation Market Garden

SOLD

A great and historic piece, an original US WW2 T5 white reserve parachute straight from DZ/T Groesbeek, Holland. This DZ was used by the 82nd Airborne Division the 508th PIR and 2nd battalion of the 505th PIR on September 17 1944 during operation Market Garden. This particulate parachute was found in the late 80s / early 90s on this drop zone and is still in a great condition. It does have rips and tears from barb wire and the battles that took place along the Wylerbaan road were DZ/T was situated but apart from that it is complete. The date panel is also clearly legible and shows that this parachute was produced by the Hightstown Rug Company and dated 1943. A historic and scarce piece straight from the Market Garden battle field!
