US WW2 IX Airborne Troop Carrier Command Grouping Holland, Varsity
A very nice US WW2 grouping named to Roger J. Mc Elwee, IX Airborne Troop Carrier Command. It consists of his ike jacket with all the original patches and his named suitcase which is largly named and marked with his army serial number. It does have a wonderful British made Troop Carrier patch attached to the front. This all is coming with a photo copy of his air medal certificate. The IX Troop Carrier Command dropped US paratroopers D-Day and Operation Market Garden. Mc Elwee flew missions during Operation Market Garden and Operation Varsity. A stunning group that deserves further research!
