US WW2 Airborne/Paratrooper Oil Cloth Invasion Brassard “Eerde, 501st P.I.R.”
SOLD
In a nice and clearly combat used condition a WWII US Airborne oil cloth invasion brassard. This 48 star oil cloth flag used to be worn on the right sleeve by American invasion troops in various assult operations such as D-Day, Provance and Operation Market Garden.
These brassards were worn by all troopers of the 101st and also by elements of the 82nd Airborne Division during the Operation Market Garden, Holland 17/09/1944. A very nice and original paratrooper item.
This example was left behind and found in Eerde (501st PIR area). Inside, there’s a text or name written that I’m having trouble deciphering. With a little effort, it might be readable and identified. A very beautiful armband used during Operation Market Garden!
