US WW2 Airborne B-4 Life Preserver, 506th PIR 101st Airborne Division

SOLD

In a nice combat used condition An US WW2 B-4 life preserver marked with “RS” which refers to Robert Sink the commander of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. The vest is 1943 dated (allthough very hard to read) and has the straps cut off, in most cases the paratroopers cut them down or of to put them on and of easier. This example was left behind and found in the Son (Eindhoven, Holland) area were it was used during Operation Market Garden. The vest was found quite recently and has become somewhat stiff over time. A stunning piece of US WW2 Airborne equipment!
