US WW2 Named 82nd Airborne Division Class A Jacket HQ Company 508th P.I.R.
€ 925,00
In a very good condition an early WWII US 82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper Class A jacket of the 508th P.I.R named to “Frank Smith“. The jacket is in very good condition and wears all the original period sewed and metal insignia such as the 82nd SSI, 508th Oval and sterling silver jump wings! On the label in the lower left pocket the name “Frank Smith” can be found stamped in red ink. According to the 508th rosters there were two “Frank Smith” within the 508th from which one was a Sergeant. So since this jacket is coming in the rank of Private it most likley belonged to “Frank T Smith” from HQ company 2nd Battalion 508th.
Inside the back of the jacket several so called laundry numbers can be seen, these numbers are not researched by us yet, The jacket comes in a size 38XL which is very unusual and a good mannequin size.. The jacket is dated 1941 on the label in the lower pocket. An excellent and decorative paratrooper Class A jacket that would be a great base for further research. A very nice historical piece!
