Luftwaffe M40 SD Helmet “Market Garden Relic”

In a nice used condition a Luftwaffe M40 single decal helmet. The helmet is marked Q64 that indicates production by Quist and comes in a size 64. The shell has most of its Luftwaffe structured blue paint and has a nice Luftwaffe decal. The liner was never taken out and it comes complete with the original strap.
This particular helmet was picked up in “Nijnsel” next to Eindhoven were a group of Flak members were taking POW. On the inside of the helmet it is named to “Kanonier W. Lenk” also a date “3/9/44” can be seen. No further research has been done by us. The swastika was taken of at some point (maybe while taken POW) and a part of the leather liner is cut away. Overal a very nice untouched helmet from historical battleground. A great helmet for display which may be also a start of a great research.
