Canadian D-Day Used Map, Juno And Gold Beach, June 6th 1944

An impressive and special historical map used during the D-Day invasion. The map shows Gold and Juno beach and is originally drawn and colored. You can see the different important points which were chosen in advance marked on this map, also the beaches are subdivided into Red and Green sections. The map is clearly dated 4-1944 and most likely used by a Canadian officer. On the back the map is named to “Captain Luneau” This deserves further research. A once in a life time chance to obtain a very special and historiacal map used during the D-Day Invasing, June 6th 1944!
On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Gold and Juno Beaches were key locations in the Allied invasion of Normandy. Gold Beach was attacked by the British, while Juno Beach was attacked by Canadian forces. These beaches were divided into sectors to aid in planning and coordination, with Gold Beach’s sectors including Item, Jig, and King, and Juno Beach’s sectors including Mike and Nan.
