British Boiled Sweets Ration Tin 1943

In a used but good condition a British ‘Boiled Sweets” ration tin. The tin is maker marked JP Ltd and dated 5/43. A very nice tin for display or to complete your British soldier!

Boiled sweets were an important part of the 24-Hour ration and the composite ration, both to provide energy and bolster morale. The boiled sweets were not intended to be part of a meal, instead, soldiers were instructed to keep a few in a pocket so they could be eaten whenever a little extra energy was needed.
