British Boiled Sweets Ration Tin 1942
€ 85,00
In a very good condition a scarce and hard to find example of a British ‘Boiled Sweets” ration tin. The tin is maker marked W.S.S. & Co Ltd and dated 12/42. A very nice tin for display or to complete your British soldier!
Boiled sweets were an important part of the 24-Hour ration and the composite ration, both to provide energy and bolster morale. The boiled sweets were not intended to be part of a meal, instead, soldiers were instructed to keep a few in a pocket so they could be eaten whenever a little extra energy was needed.
