British Boiled Sweets Ration Tin 1944 “Coin Type”

In a very good condition a British ‘Boiled Sweets Salt & Matches” ration tin. The tin is the so calles coin type which are pretty hard to find. The tin is maker marked W. Ltd and dated 1944. A very nice tin for display or to complete your British soldier!
Boiled sweets were an important part of the 24-Hour ration and the composite ration, both to provide energy and bolster morale. The boiled sweets were not intended to be part of a meal, instead, soldiers were instructed to keep a few in a pocket so they could be eaten whenever a little extra energy was needed.
