US WW2 101st Airborne Named (KIA) Reinforced M1942 Jacket

In a real combat used condition a truely stunning US ex reinforced M-1942 paratrooper jacket named to Albert K. Jones C/401 Glider Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. This M42 jacket was once reinforced and used in the Normandy invasion by Pvt Jones. The reinforcements were period removed and the jacket was most likely used as an under jacket after Normandy. Many period photos of Market Garden and the Battle Bulge shows the M42 was worn as an under jacket in combat to keep warm. On both the elbows and lower pockets the discoloration, impregnation and stitching can be seen from were the reinforcements were cut. On the inside of the sleeves parts of the reinforcements are stil present. Underneat the lower left pocket there is some staining which might be blood. Inside the collar the name and full army serial number of Pvt Jones can be found. The jacket comes with all the original zippers in working condition.
Albert K. Jones was a private in C/401 Glider Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He landed by Glider on june 6th 1944 on French soil. He is also mentioned in the book “Fighting with the screaming eagles” His name and army serial number can be found in the 101st Airborne roster. From a certain point and unknown reason Pvt Jones was most likely transfered to the 330th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division and fought among them during the Battle of the Bulge. Pvt Jones was killed in action on january 8 1945. He is buried in Henri Chapelle American Cemetery, Belgium.
